tangint Private testing

Use your Linux computer from your phone.

Tangint installs on a Linux computer and gives it a control panel you open in your phone's browser. It includes a desktop, terminal, file browser, music player and trackpad. You don't need a VPN, port forwarding or a static IP, and nothing on the machine listens on the internet.

The panel takes on the colour of the device you're using, so you always know which machine you're about to restart. Tap a colour to see this page change.

Made for your phone.

Tangint is designed for one-handed use on a phone. The trackpad moves the real cursor, and terminal sessions keep running after you close the tab.

You arrange the home screen yourself. Each row holds two square tiles or one wide tile, so the grid always lines up.

DesktopStreams the machine's display through Sunshine and Moonlight. Your keyboard, mouse and audio work too.
TerminalSessions run in tmux and keep going when you close the tab, restart the panel or lock your phone.
TrackpadUse your phone's screen to move the cursor. It also has a keyboard with modifier keys.
MusicPlays through the speakers connected to the machine. Your phone controls playback.
FilesBrowse the disk and move files between it and your phone.
ChatAsk a hosted AI model about the machine it's running on. Included with Connected.
SystemManage Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, displays, audio output, storage, updates and power scheduling.

Your device stays closed to the internet.

The device makes one outgoing connection and keeps it open. It has no open ports, so there are no firewall rules to write and no router settings to change.

How a device is reached Your device dials out to the intersection and holds the connection open. Your phone connects to the intersection too. The intersection passes encrypted bytes between the two, without a key to either end. Nothing connects inward to the device. workshop Your device Intersection Passes data along Your phone Dials out Opens a tab Encrypted end to end

Your browser and the device set up an encrypted connection using the Noise protocol. The intersection passes the encrypted data along and never has the keys to read it.

01

The relay can't read your data

It forwards encrypted data between your browser and the device without the keys to decrypt it.

02

Works without internet

On your home network, the panel opens with a PIN. It doesn't need an account, the relay or DNS.

03

Failed updates roll back

Each update is signed and checked against a pinned key before it's installed. If the panel doesn't start afterward, the device restores the previous version automatically.

04

Telemetry is opt-in

This applies on every plan. The device also manages its own power schedule locally, without reporting to a server.

Install with one command.

Setup takes about five minutes.

01 Create an accountStart a seven-day trial. Your card is kept on file and isn't charged until the trial ends.
02 Add a deviceThe console creates a short-lived claim token and gives you a command that includes it.
03 Run the commandPaste it into a terminal on the machine. It supports Debian 12 or later and Ubuntu 22.04 or later, on x86-64 or arm64.
04 Open the panelThe device shows up in your console, enrolled and ready to use.

The installer checks the Python it downloads and the Tangint source against known checksums, and installs dependencies from a locked list. Every machine gets an identical build.

Run a Linux desktop in the cloud.

With the Connected plan, you can start a cloud machine from the console. It sets itself up and appears in your device list with the same panel as your other machines.

Each session lasts an hour. Tap the timer to extend it by an hour, up to three times. The panel checks with you five minutes before time runs out, and a session ends early after 30 minutes without activity.

Save & stop takes a snapshot of the disk. When you start again, you get the same machine back.
